Hi

I greet you all in the Mighty Name of Jesus, I have been off the internet for some while now seeking new direction and wisdom for my future, it is so easy to get bogged down with life’s stresses and trying to do too much being spread out to thinly just rob’s you of effectiveness. During this time I have been looking into The Word studying scripture and generally meditating on the goodness of God.

During this time I have been speaking with mentors and looking at what it is that I must do but during this time I came across a strange thing something that I have not really noticed before or should I say I was aware but not fully conscious of and that is through the years that I have been a Christian most all of the preaching, evangelism and outreach is totally focused on getting people born again with a view to leaving the earth at some point and going to heaven yet very little is preached about the words Jesus’ spoke concerning bringing heaven to earth, now before you switch off and shout heretic read further.

The disciples went to Jesus and asked Him to teach them to pray, this was obviously because they saw the results in His life and being good followers wanted it to, so He gave them an outline which we call The Lords Prayer when it should be called the disciples or our prayer this is the prayer we know so well Our Father who is in heaven……….. “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” and then goes on to some very practical advice…

Our entire Christian message revolves around one simple prayer “you must be born again” if you have not prayed this prayer you go to hell simple as that… we or most Christians go to church once a week for their for their quick fix sing a few songs listen to a preach drink a coffee and go home by Sunday evening most would not even be able to quote the sermon, the entire Christian life revolves around feeling good for a while having a wonderful worship service and getting goose bumps or listening to a very formal sermon,

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me Mathew 25 31-46

Now, the you must be born again scripture is true but it was only ever quoted once by Jesus in the middle of the night to one man who was a Pharisee, if that was the only way to heaven do you not think Jesus might have mentioned it again in a more open setting or was he being very secretive about it, Nicodemus was a Pharisee a first born, firstborns receive justice those second born receive mercy NOW I am not saying that saying that this prayer is wrong as we have to accept Jesus as Lord and we have to believe in the One that sent him But there is a whole lot more to the Christian faith than a simple prayer and all is okay for some time in the future.

See the following

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Eph 4:11-13)

Does this not indicate that the entire body of believers is to do the work of the ministry, to do what you are called to, every person of God has a calling to be part of the expansion and establishment of the Kingdom we are told so often in the scriptures to make disciples nowhere are we told to just get converts.

I challenge you to examine the scriptures and to look for the verses where we are told to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, read the final words of Jesus on this earth Matthew 28 19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have taught you.

Mark 16 (paraphrase) go into all the world preaching the good news whoever believes shall be saved…….John 21,  14 onwards read it

In conclusion read Isaiah 58 and put it in the context of today this is a command to us are we doing it?

Blessings to all in the Great Name of Jesus He is our strength our rock our foundation in Him we have life In Him is our salvation by No other name can we be saved.
